I am Lisa
Hi there!
...and I welcome you to my photography website, and thank you for spending your time here.
My childhood toys included a Brownie Hawkeye camera, 1959 version! A Brownie Hawkeye remains on my shelf to this day! My fascination with it led me to a life-long interest in "snapping" a shot - a moment in time - that lives on through time.
Eventually, I graduated into a manual Pentax during my college years, and on to Nikon, which I use today.
In my college days, I would hike the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains, New York, creating a repetiore of landscape photographs. However, photography did not become my career, it remained just my passion/interest until 2016.
After a life of high-power, intense career of broadcasting, humanitarian work, global affairs analysis, I gave it all up in 2016 to focus solely on art and photography. Once again, I climbed mountains - never leaving my camera at home - and the result is a repository of amazing photos from the Desert Southwest. I so hope you enjoy them!
The last five-years, I also developed an interest in natural light, portrait photography. I like to think that the images I capture reflect the soul, the heart, and the essence of the indiviual. I accomplish this by bringing my very upbeat personality to the photo session. I spend time conversing, getting to know my subject, and that includes children. Often, I bring the children small gifts, and we play before we do anything else. We may blow bubbles, play with hoola hoops, and I talk to them about friends, school, hopes and dreams. It has been a joy working with families, in all their forms. It would be my honor to work with your family.
Finally, a few thoughts on life:
First of all, it all goes by so quickly.
I am a mother of two sons, both grown and living robust lives, and I'm a rescue momma to fur babies. Giving back to the world, helping suffering people, is as important to me as anything I do.
Every single print I sell, and every photo session fee, a portion will go to a humanitarian cause. Currently, I am focusing on Ukrainian relief. My family is of Ukrainian heritage.
I love my life, live it happily in my Historic Phoenix home, and photograph something every single day. My life blessed.
